Sensors for incontinence diapers

It was designed and in cooperation with the University of Pardubice and Fatra a.s. verified system of a printed sensor capable of identifying the saturation of an incontinent diaper so that it is possible to use remote communication to notify the staff of the need to change the diaper. The system is set up so that a printed sensor based on conductive polymers is part of the diaper, and the communication and identification system is personalized and connected when the diaper is changed.

The implementation of the output was completed by Ontex, which successfully commercialized the entire system. Currently, the system is used in social care institutions for long-term immobile clients. In addition to reducing the costs associated with the consumption of diapers and increasing of the efficiency of the work of the medical staff, a positive reaction was also recorded on the part of clients who feel a greater comfort of medical care.
