Antimicrobial protection of touch screens
Water-based varnish with incorporated antimicrobial system based on the synergistic effect of standard biocidal preparations suitable for the protection of surfaces with photoactive derivatives was developed. This varnish is suitable for application on the flexible protective foils which are applied on the surface of the touch screens. All system is able effective protect against microbial attack of users of touch screens with minimalize amount of standard biocides preparations. System with positive effects on human health is protected by the patent WO 2023/116955.
The output is currently implemented by the company Fortes interactive (https://fortesinteractive.com/cs/lotus-foil/ ), which markets protective foils for touch screens. In this way, these products can be treated against the unwanted transmission of potential microbial infections without loss of comfort.
The protective films have already been tested for antimicrobial effectiveness and long-term testing in real conditions in which touchscreens are intensively loaded. An important parameter is above all mechanical stability, also with regard to the fact that touchscreens are loaded to a large extent, especially locally where the confirmation buttons are located.
