Joint NMR Laboratory of University of Pardubice and VUOS
In 2001, an Bruker Avance 500 NMR spectrometer with the proton frequency of 500.13 MHz was put into operation. This instrument forms a basis of the Joint NMR Laboratory of University of Pardubice and VUOS. The spectrometer is equipped with 5-mm broad-band direct and inversion probes allowing utilisation of the magnetic field gradient. The probes operate within the range of 109Ag - 31P and 1H, and 15N - 31P and 1H plus 19F (new BBOF probe from 2011), respectively. Each partner from the Joint NMR Laboratory has had an additional Bruker Avance 400 NMR spectrometer from 2006 and 2008, respectively.
The main areas of activity of the Laboratory are analyses of organic compounds and their mixtures by means of 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The structural analyses make use of the advantages of two-dimensional (2D) NMR spectroscopy in a standard way. The staff members of the Laboratory have had a rich experience with measurements of nuclei other than 1H and 13C, too, in particular 7Li, 14N, 15N, 17O, 27Al, 29Si, 31P, 33S, 77Se, 119Sn, 125 Te, etc., and they participate in education of undergraduates and postgraduates from the University of Pardubice, co-operating mainly and effectively with its Faculty of Chemical Technology.
